The <br />request was tabled in order to give the applicants additional time to review their proposal and <br />provide an alternate plan that would reduce the encroachment of the proposed porch in the rear <br />yard setback. The staff report and draft minutes from the June 27, 2016 meeting have been <br />provided in Attachments I and J. The applicants have since revised their plans to reduce the <br />width of the porch from 12 feet to 10 feet. This would result in a reduction in the encroachment <br />from 3 feet – 6 inches to 1 foot – 6 inches. <br /> <br /> <br />Overview of Request <br /> <br />The applicants have requested a rear yard setback variance in order to construct a 180 square foot <br />three-season porch addition on the rear side of the house. The porch addition would encroach 1 <br />foot – 6 inches into the required 30-foot rear yard setback, creating a setback of 28 feet – 6 <br />inches from the rear property line.
