The project was initiated in response to surcharges
by Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) for exceeding the maximum sanitary
sewer allowed from various meter sheds due to inflow/infiltration into the sanitary sewer system.
The City applied for the 2014 MCES Municipal Grant Program for reimbursement for a
percentage of the construction cost for the Sanitary Sewer Lining Project and was notified of
approval to participate in the program.

Discussion

The next step in the Grant Program process is to submit final construction cost information and
along with a resolution authorizing the City to enter into a Grant Agreement for the final
reimbursement. While the final amount is not known at this time, the initial estimate is
$37,295.31.

Attachments

A: Resolution 2016-033
