July 13, 2015 <br />Section 4: Definitions TCAAP Redevelopment Code <br />Page | 21 <br /> <br />Building Height <br />The vertical distance from the average elevation of the grade along a face of a building to <br />the highest point of the roof surface of flat roofs, the deck line of mansard roofs, or the <br />average height between the eaves and the highest ridge of gable, hip, or gambrel roofs. <br />The height of a stepped or terraced building shall be the height of the tallest segment of the <br />building. <br />Building Step-Back <br />Building step-back is the setting back of the building façade line away from the street at a <br />specific floor or height. <br /> Illustration of a Building Step-Back <br />C D <br />Clear Height <br />The distance from the top of the finished floor to the bottom of the finished ceiling in portions of <br />commercial buildings used for warehousing or manufacturing. <br />Complete Street <br />A complete street is a transportation policy and design approach that requires streets to be <br />planned, designed, operated, and maintained to enable safe, convenient and comfortable <br />travel and access for users of all ages and abilities regardless of their mode of transportation. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
