PUBLIC HEARING—8A <br /> ,iVEN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: June 27, 2016 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Susan Iverson, Acting City Administrator/Director of Finance and Admin Services, <br /> Pang Silseth, Accounting Clerk <br /> SUBJECT: Adopting and Confirming Quarterly Special Assessments for Delinquent Utilities <br /> Background: <br /> Delinquent utility amounts are certified to Ramsey County quarterly. <br /> A list of utility accounts with a delinquent balance was compiled and notices dated May 9, 2016 <br /> were mailed. These customers were informed of their delinquent status and were asked to make <br /> payment of the delinquent balance by June 10, 2016. Utility accounts with an unpaid delinquent <br /> balance after June 10, 2016 would be certified to Ramsey County to be added to property taxes <br /> payable in 2017. The certification amount is equal to the unpaid delinquent balance plus an eight <br /> percent penalty. <br /> A list of remaining delinquent utility accounts, as of June 22, 2016 is attached. The City will <br /> request that Ramsey County levy the delinquent balances against the respective properties. <br /> Recommended Action: <br /> Motion to approve Resolution 2016-021 certifying the attached list of delinquent utility accounts to <br /> Ramsey County. <br /> Attachments <br /> Attachment A: Resolution No. 2016-021 <br /> Attachment B: List of Delinquent Utility Accounts <br />
