CONSENT ITEM – 5L <br /> <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: December 12, 2016 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Sue Iverson, Interim City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Andy Brotzler, Interim Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2015 PMP Final Payment #8 <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br />Approve Final Payment #8 to Valley Paving, Inc. in the amount of $196,071.79 for the <br />2015 PMP Improvements. <br /> <br />Background <br />The City Council awarded the 2015 PMP Improvements to Valley Paving, Inc. on May 4, <br />2015, in the amount of $3,896,796.88. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> There was no additional work performed for payment with this pay estimate, it simply <br />reflects the coordination of final quantities and the release of the 5% retainage. Final <br />payment #8 is in the amount $196,071.79. The Contractor has provided all necessary <br />closeout documentation. Elfering & Associates has provided a letter (Attachment A) <br />recommending approval of the final payment. <br /> <br />Financial Implications <br />With the final payment, the total amount paid to the contractor is $3,847,377.49 which is <br />slightly under the awarded contract amount.
