ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Grant called to order the City Council <br />Work Session at 5:02 p.m. <br />Present: Mayor David Grant, Councilmembers Brenda Holden, Fran Holmes, Dave <br />McClung (anived at 5:15 p.m.) and Steve Scott <br />Absent: None <br />Also present: Interim Public Works Director/City Engineer Andy Brotzler, Interim <br />Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer Sue Polka, Senior Planner Matthew <br />Bachler, Interim City Planner Eric Zweber, Deputy City Clerk Jolene Trauba, Nicholas <br />Roberts, Roberts Management and Benjamin Lieser, Roberts Management <br />1. AGENDA ITEMS <br />A. Public Works Update <br />o School Signs, Water Maino Sewer & Future Reconstruction Projects <br />o 2017 Trail Improvement Projects <br />o County Road E/Snelling Avenue Bridge Lighting <br />o Old Snelling Trail Project <br />Interim Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka provided the Council with <br />updates on various public works items. She discussed the County Road E2 speed limit sign, water <br />main improvements, the sewer lining rehabilitation project, and future street rehabilitation <br />projects. She commented on the County Road E2 sign and recommended the Council consider <br />upgrading the sign and posting signs with the times the 30 mile an hour speed limit was in force. <br />Councilmember Scott supported the Council proceeding with Option #2. <br />Interim Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka described how this sign could <br />be programmed with the school calendar and times. She commented further on the benefits of <br />having the sign flashing at only certain times versus constantly.
