Joynes, Sr., City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2017 Trail and Watermain Projects – Engineering Services <br /> <br /> <br />Requested Action <br />Approve the scope and fee from WSB & Associates (Attachment A) in the amount of $90,942.00 <br />for preliminary design services for the CR E2 Trail, the Old Snelling Trail from Bethel Drive to <br />CR E2 and the Old Snelling Water Main Improvement Project (City Project No. 17-W-001); and <br />final design for the Old Snelling Trail from CR E to Bethel Trail and CR E from Freeway Park to <br />Snelling Avenue N. <br /> <br />Background <br />At the February 21, 2017 City Council Workshop, staff brought forward a scope and fee for <br />preliminary design, final design and construction services for the projects listed above. The City <br />Council requested that the scope be limited to preliminary design for the CR E2, the northern <br />segment of the Old Snelling Trail (Bethel Drive to CR E2), and the Old Snelling water main <br />loop; and final design of the Old Snelling Trail from CR E to Bethel Trail and CR E from <br />Freeway Park to Snelling Avenue N. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />The scope, fee and schedule are detailed in Attachment A. Staff has identified each phase <br />(preliminary design, final design and construction services) for each project. The amount that is <br />requested for approval is as follows: <br /> <br />Preliminary Design - CR E2 Trail 70 $ 8,977 <br />Final Design - Old Snelling Trail (E-Bethel Dr) 375 $42,604 <br />Preliminary Design - Old Snelling Trail (Bethel Dr-E2) 200 $23,589 <br />Preliminary Design - Watermain Looping 120 $15,772 <br />Grand Total 765 $90,942 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 5I <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />
