Joynes, Sr., City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, Finance Analyst <br /> Pang Silseth, Accounting Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Adopting and Confirming Quarterly Special Assessments for Delinquent Utilities <br /> <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Delinquent utility amounts are certified to Ramsey County quarterly. <br /> <br />A list of utility accounts with a delinquent balance was compiled and notices dated February 8, <br />2017 were mailed. These customers were informed of their delinquent status and were asked to <br />make payment of the delinquent balance by March 8, 2017. Utility accounts with an unpaid <br />delinquent balance after March 8, 2017 would be certified to Ramsey County to be added to <br />property taxes payable in 2018. The certification amount is equal to the unpaid delinquent balance <br />plus an eight percent penalty. <br /> <br />A list of remaining delinquent utility accounts, as of March 9, 2017 is attached. The City will <br />request that Ramsey County levy the delinquent balances against the respective properties. <br /> <br />Recommended Action: <br /> <br />Motion to approve Resolution 2017-008 certifying the attached list of delinquent utility accounts to <br />Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Attachment A: Resolution No. 2017-008 <br />Attachment B: List of Delinquent Utility Accounts
