Joynes, Sr., City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Julie Hanson, City Clerk <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Motion to Authorize City Staff to Begin Summer Work Hours on May 30, 2017, <br />and Conclude on September 5, 2017 <br /> <br /> <br />Overview <br /> <br />Each year, the City Council has authorized staff to work summer hours beginning the day <br />following Memorial Day and concluding the day following Labor Day. As such, staff is seeking <br />City C ouncil authorization to begin summer work hours on May 30, 2017, and conclude on <br />September 5, 2017. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />For many years, the City changed its hours to “summer hours” as described above. The summer <br />hours schedule enables extended hours of City services for construction contractors and residents <br />who have construction projects or other City business. <br /> <br /> Traditional Hours Proposed Summer Hours <br />City Hall Staff 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. <br />Monday – Friday <br />7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />Monday – Thursday <br />7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. <br />on Friday <br />Maintenance Facility Staff 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. <br />Monday – Friday <br />6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />Monday – Thursday <br />6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. <br />on Friday <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />Motion by the City Council to authorize City staff to begin summer work hours on May 30, <br />2017, and conclude on September 5, 2017. <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6H <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />
