Joynes, Sr., City Administrator <br />Sue Iverson, Director of Finance and Administrative Services <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Appoint Public Works Maintenance Worker <br />Position <br />Background and Discussion <br />At the March 13, 2017, City Council meeting, the City Council appointed Jeff Frid to the <br />position of Public Works Superintendent. This created a vacancy of a Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker. Staff advertised and interviewed the position. <br />The recruitment process resulted in 19 applicants for the position. Ten applicants were <br />interviewed by the Public Works Director, Public Works Superintendent, one Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker, the Director of Finance and Administrative Services. <br />Second round interviews were held including the City Administrator. After completing <br />the interviews, the top candidate was determined to be David Williams. <br />Attached is Mr. Williams resume. <br />Council Action <br />Staff recommends appointing David Williams to the position of Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker at Year One of the Union Compensation scale, contingent upon <br />satisfactory background and reference checks, and pre-employment physical. <br />Attachment: <br />A: David Williams’ Application
