CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chair Erickson called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present: Chair Dan Erickson, Commissioners Evan Cordes, Brendan O’Meara, Liz Johnson, <br />and Rob Williams <br /> <br />Also Present: Council Liaison Dave McClung, Senior Planner Matthew Bachler, WSB Senior <br />Planner Eric Zweber, WSB Economic Development Coordinator Jim Gromberg, <br />and Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce President John Connelly <br /> <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to accept the agenda as presented. <br /> <br /> <br />3. APPOINTMENTS <br /> <br />Senior Planner Matthew Bachler administered the oath of office to Commissioners Cordes and <br />O’Meara. <br /> <br /> <br />4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to accept the April 5, 2017 meeting minutes as presented. <br /> <br /> <br />5. UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Higher Education Study <br /> <br />Senior Planner Matthew Bachler noted that in October 2016 the City Council approved a <br />temporary ordinance prohibiting new land use applications for higher education uses. The purpose <br />of the ordinance was to give the city an opportunity to complete a study looking at the impacts of <br />higher education uses in terms of economic development and land use.
