Parks, Trails & Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes March 21, 2017 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />Committee Chair Straumann asked for a trail update. Public Works Director <br />Sue Polka said that we would be holding off on the Highway 96 trail until TCAAP <br />starts getting developed. The design phase is happening this year for the County <br />Road E2 and the Snelling Trails with the construction taking place in 2018. <br /> <br /> Mayor Grant discussed the County Road F project. Mayor Grant informed the <br />PTRC Committee that the County Road F project is scheduled for 2018 and going to <br />be completed by Ramsey County. <br /> <br />Discussion continued about trail priorities in Arden Hills. PTRC Members would <br />like to come up with a list of trail priorities in the future. <br /> <br /> <br />3. NEW BUSINESS <br /> A. PTRC 2017 Member List <br /> <br />Staff Liaison Knoll provided PTRC Members with a current Committee roster. <br />The PTRC Members information was updated and a new hand out will be provided <br />at the next PTRC Meeting held on Tuesday, April 18. <br /> <br />B. Meeting Dates <br /> <br />Committee Chair Straumann stated that the June PTRC Meeting will be a trail <br />tour. Committee Chair Straumann suggested taking a tour of Building 189 and the <br />Rice Creek Trails. The June tour will be held on Tuesday, June 20 at 5:00 p.m. at <br />Arden Hills City Hall. <br /> <br />C. New Signs Ordered <br /> <br />Staff Liaison Knoll provided the PTRC Members with pictures of the new signs <br />that were placed at the entrance of Perry Park and the path leading to Perry Park. A <br />new park sign was also installed at Arden Manor Park. <br /> <br />D. Ice Rink User Information <br /> <br />Staff Member Thelen provided an update on the ice rink usage for the 2016/2017 <br />season. The season was a short one, as the weather played a part in getting the rinks <br />up and running. The opening date for the City of Arden Hills Ice Rinks were <br />December 19, 2016. The closing date for the Arden Hills Ice Rinks were February <br />10, 2017. The total number of users in 2016/2017 were 2,352. That total is up 248 <br />users from the previous year. <br /> <br />PTRC Members discussed if it would be beneficial to have a rink on the North side <br />of Arden Hills and not as many rinks in the South side of town. Staff Liaison <br />Knoll stated there would be an ice rink in the TCAAP development. Based on ice <br />rink usage the placement of the ice rinks seem to be going well. <br /> <br />
