ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION – JULY 17, 2017 2 <br />C. PRELIMINARY GENERAL FUND BUDGET <br />Interim Director of Finance and Admin Services Dave Perrault presented a PowerPoint <br />outlining the Preliminary General Fund Budget. Discussed were the Overall Budget Summary, <br />Budget Assumptions, Revenues, Expenditures, Staffing and the General Fund Balance. It was <br />noted that Ramsey County will be giving us final property tax information in mid-August which <br />could change this projected budget. <br />Councilmember Dave McClung arrived at 5:23 p.m. <br />A Special Work Session will be scheduled for late August or early September to discuss the <br />General Fund Budget after tax information is available from the County. <br />D. BUDGET AMENDMENT <br />Mayor Grant noted that it will be important to have the final numbers from Ramsey County <br />before making a decision on the Budget Amendment. <br />2. COUNCIL/STAFF COMMENTS <br />Councilmember McClung said he will not be at the Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on July 18 <br />but thanked the volunteers for their service. <br />Councilmember Scott said he will be at the picnic on July 18. <br />Councilmember Fran Holmes would like to see more information from the Ramsey County <br />Sheriff’s Department regarding incidents in Arden Hills. <br />City Administrator William Joynes said that the new Communications Coordinator may be able <br />to help gather information from the Sheriff’s Department. <br />Mayor Grant noted that Old Hwy 8 (Thumb Road) in TCAAP is being built as a 3 lane road <br />and we have a full time inspector there. He asked for an update on the Old Snelling trail. <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Polka said we are working on the portion north of Bethel <br />and a preliminary design should be available in August for the trail along E2 and the portion of <br />Old Snelling Trail north of Bethel Drive.
