ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—AUGUST 14, 2017 8 <br /> Councilmember Holmes provided the Council with an update on GreenStep Cities and noted <br /> Senior Planner Bachler would be taking over this program at a staff level. <br /> Councilmember Holden requested staff speak with Bethel University regarding use of the loud <br /> speaker. <br /> Councilmember Holden thanked Aaron Thelen for all of his work in the parks and wished him <br /> well in his new position. <br /> Councilmember Holden stated she would be attending the Rotary Taste of Hops fundraiser event <br /> on Friday, August 18. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked when the new Communications Specialist would be starting with <br /> the City. <br /> Mayor Grant reported Communications Specialist Aley Olson began working with the City on <br /> Tuesday, August 8. <br /> City Clerk Hanson described the work Ms. Olson has been undergoing on the City's website, on <br /> Facebook, Twitter, and noted she was also making corporate contacts. She explained Ms. Olson <br /> would be meeting with the newsletter committee in the coming weeks. <br /> Councilmember Holden wished Heather Worthington well in her new position and thanked her <br /> for all of her work on TCAAP. <br /> Councilmember McClung understood the Floral neighborhood was very excited to have their <br /> streets reconstructed in 2018. <br /> Councilmember McClung stated the Ketihson neighborhood was interested in seeing the old <br /> City Hall site redeveloped. <br /> Mayor Grant commented the City received 50%of the funding for the Old Snelling bridge. <br /> Mayor Grant directed staff to look at the documentation the City has for emergency management <br /> and noted Councilmember Scott should be included with this document. <br /> Mayor Grant explained he attended a number of events on Night to Unite and he thanked all <br /> Arden Hills residents that participated in this event. He discussed several comments and feedback <br /> that he received from the public. <br /> Mayor Grant thanked Aaron Thelen for his dedicated service to the City in the parks and wished <br /> him well in his new position. <br /> Councilmember Holden noted the Cummings Park sign had been moved. <br /> Councilmember Scott also thanked Aaron Thelen for his service to the City. <br />
