Joynes, Sr., City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Sewer Line Root Control Service <br /> <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Sources: <br />$25,000.00 $22,790.22 Sanitary Sewer Utility Fund <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Authorize Duke’s Root Control, Inc. to provide sanitary sewer line root control service in the <br />amount of $22,790.22. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />City staff has completed annual sewer cleaning and televising and has identified 14,128 feet of 8- <br />inch and 12-inch sanitary sewer main that needs to be treated for tree roots that are present in the <br />pipes. This is an annual effort wherein tree roots present in the pipes will be removed and <br />treatment applied to deter future growth. Attached (Attachment A) is the proposal received from <br />Duke’s Root Control, Inc. in the amount of $22,790.22 to complete the work.
