MEMORANDUM

COMM. NO.: 6131.037.08
CLIENT: Boston Scientific
PROJECT: Building 9 Sterilization Facility – paving and driveway revision

SUBJECT: Land Use Application Narrative
MEMO BY: Joe Ford, RSP Architects
DATE: October 23, 2017

ATTENTION: Matthew Bachler, Senior Planner, City of Arden Hills
COPY: Lorne Rothbauer, Boston Scientific
Jeff Hejl, Boston Scientific

Boston Scientific Corporation proposes to expand the existing paved area adjacent to the Sterilization
Facility addition, widen the curb cut for the existing driveway adjoining Cummings Park Drive, and to
reduce the length of the existing center island in Cummings Park Drive . The intent of these site revisions
is to ease truck turning movements in and out of the loading docks and service areas at the north end of
Building 9.

Improved tractor-trailer access at this dock will help limit truck traffic to the northeast corner of the site,
where trucks access Cummings Park Drive via Lexington Avenue. Discouraging truck traffic through
campus will limit the number of locations where trucks will intersect with passenger vehicle and
pedestrian paths.
