<br /> <br />2016/2017 Spring Summer Parks & Recreation Registrations <br /> <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: September 12, 2017 <br /> <br />TO: Parks Trails and Recreation Committee <br /> <br />FROM: Sara Knoll, Parks and Recreation Coordinator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2016/2017 Spring/Summer Parks & Recreation Registrations <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Attached you will find the Parks & Recreation participation numbers from spring/summer <br />2016/2017. The Parks and Recreation Department offered over 100 programs this <br />spring/summer for youth, adults and seniors. Participation was up from 2016 (1268) to (1363) in <br />2017 adding an additional 95 participants. <br /> <br />With the help from the Arden Hills Foundation the City of Arden Hills was able to provide 15 <br />scholarships totaling over $400.00 to Arden Hills Residents in need. <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills Summer Playground Program continues to grow each year. This <br />summer the City reached capacity at both parks for the morning program. Tyke Time and Mini <br />Kids Club at Cummings Park had 70 participants. Tyke Time and Mini Kids Club at Hazelnut <br />Park had 73 participants. That is a total of 143 participants in the morning playground program. <br /> <br />This fall the City of Arden Hills Parks & Recreation Department has added classes taking place <br />at Arden Hills City Hall. Classes that are being offered include: Yoga for all ages (adults), Tai <br />Chi (adults), Gardening Classes (adults), Evening Art Classes (youth), Evening Science Classes <br />(youth), Dance Program (youth) and Parents night out; Kids night in (youth). City Hall will be <br />busy every night of the week with a different activity. <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />Please take a look at the attached spreadsheet for the spring/summer 2016-2017 season. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
