<br />City of Arden Hills <br />Planning Commission Meeting for September 6, 2017 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: September 6, 2017 PC Agenda Item 5.A <br /> <br />TO: Planning Commission Chair Thompson and Commissioners <br /> <br />FROM: Matthew Bachler, Senior Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Report from the City Council <br /> <br /> <br />August 21, 2017 City Council Work Session <br /> <br />The City Council reviewed a Concept Plan Review from Pulte Group for a 59 unit townhome <br />development on the site comprised of 1718, 1720, and 1722 Parkshore Drive and 4177 Old <br />Highway 10, which is located north of Interstate 694 and south of Round Lake, just to the west <br />of Old Highway 10. The proposal would require a Comprehensive Plan Amendment, Rezoning <br />of the properties to R-3 – Townhouse and Low-Density Multiple Dwelling District, Preliminary <br />and Final Plat, and Master and Final Planned Unit Development. <br /> <br />The City Council also reviewed a Concept Plan Review from Heartland Gun Club and Range for <br />an indoor gun range. Heartland presented three different properties in the City they were <br />considering for the business. The proposal would require a City Code amendment to allow for <br />the use of firearms at a commercial gun range, a Zoning Code amendment to create a new land <br />use category for this activity, and a Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br />The City Council reviewed and discussed the draft Land Use and Housing chapters for the 2040 <br />Comprehensive Plan Update. These chapters were previously reviewed by the Planning <br />Commission at their meeting on June 7, 2017. <br /> <br /> <br />
