ORDINANCE NO.2017-011 <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF SPECIAL PERMITS <br />AUTHORIZING EXTENDED CLOSING TIMES FOR ON -SALE LIQUOR <br />ESTABLISHMENTS DURING THE 2018 SUPER BOWL <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA, ORDAINS: <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 1, 2017 MN Session Laws, Art. 11, §19, provides the authority for <br />the City to issue special permits to liquor licensees during the 2018 National Football League <br />Super Bowl at U.S. Bank Stadium to allow for the service of alcohol through extended hours <br />lasting until 4:00 a.m., and; <br />WHEREAS, the City Council considered the special liquor license permit at its work <br />session on November 20, 2017. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BASED ON THE REPORT FROM STAFF AND OTHER <br />INFORMATION RECEIVED, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ARDEN HILLS CITY <br />COUNCIL THAT: <br />SECTION 1. All liquor licensees may obtain a permit authorizing on -sale service of <br />alcohol until 4:00 a.m., during the authorized period subject to the conditions in Section 2. <br />SECTION 2. The following conditions shall apply to the on -sale of intoxicating liquor <br />described in Section 1: <br />1. Only holders of an existing liquor license issued by the City are eligible for the <br />permit; <br />2. The permit shall only be effective during the period from 12:00 p.m., February 2, <br />2018, through 4:00 a.m., February 5, 2018; <br />3. At 4:01 a.m., February 5, 2018 the permit shall expire and terminate with no further <br />action required by the City; and <br />4. The permit shall be subject to the conditions, prohibited acts and penalties set forth in <br />state law and city code; and <br />5. The permit shall be issued by the city clerk upon receipt of an application from a <br />licensee in a form prescribed by the City and payment of a permit fee of $100. <br />
