<br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 5L <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: January 8, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, P.E., Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2018 PMP – Additional Engineering for Indian Oaks Area Drainage Review <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $555,000 $32,500 (year to date) 2018 PMP – Surface Water Utility <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />Authorize WSB to provide additional engineering for the 2018 PMP Improvements relating to <br />the Indian Oaks area drainage in the not-to-exceed amount of $32,500. <br /> <br />Background <br />During the design of the 2018 PMP project, it was determined that additional engineering is <br />required to evaluate downstream conditions (on and north of Colleen Avenue) due to current <br />findings regarding the existing storm drain system north of the Indian Oaks pond. A map of the <br />area is attached (Attachment A) <br /> <br />Discussion <br />WSB has provided a scope of services (Attachment B) which is broken down into three steps as <br />follows: <br /> <br />• Step 1: Feasibility Study and evaluation of downstream flooding potential, $10,500 <br />• Step 2: Coordination with RCWD and MnDOT, $5,500 <br />• Step 3: Final design and permitting, $16,500 <br /> <br />If it is determined during the feasibility study (Step 1), that there are no feasible design options, <br />then Steps 2 and 3 will not be necessary. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Location map <br />Attachment B: WSB Scope and Fee
