<br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for January 22, 2018 <br />P:\Planning\Planning Cases\2017\PC 17-028 - 1504 Edgewater Ave - Site Plan Review - Accessory Structure\Memos_Reports_17-028 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br />Staff received a phone call from a resident in the neighborhood who supported the request and <br />noted that the topography and configuration of the yards on the property presented exceptional <br />and unusual circumstances. <br /> <br />Two residents spoke at the Planning Commission meeting on January 10, 2018 regarding this <br />planning case. One resident commented that the shed could not be placed in the rear yard of the <br />lot as it was heavily wooded and that the property was unique with a large front yard. The other <br />resident indicated that they were concerned with the aesthetic impact of the shed on the <br />neighborhood and that approving the request would set a precedent. Draft minutes from the <br />meeting are included in Attachment G. <br /> <br /> <br />Deadline for Agency Actions <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills received the completed application for this request on November 6, <br />2017. Pursuant to Minnesota State Statute, the City was required to act on this request by January <br />5, 2018 (60 days), unless the City provided the petitioner with written reasons for an additional <br />60 day review period. <br /> <br />The applicant was notified on December 13, 2017 of the City’s request for an additional 60-day <br />review period. Pursuant to Minnesota State Statute, the City must now act on this request by <br />March 6, 2018.
