A geotechnical investigation was completed in August of 2016 and it was
determined that the court needed to be reconstructed and due to the underlying soils,
reconstruction was cost prohibitive.

Staff held a neighborhood meeting with the Johanna Marsh residents and presented two
playground layouts as we ll as receiving input on park amenities. The playground concepts were
generally well received. Several residents expressed interest in a boardwalk and overlook area.
Initial estimates for a park with all of these amenities totaled more than $300,000. Based on
feedback from the September 2017 PTRC meeting, WSB developed the layout depicted in
Attachment A. The proposed layout includes playground areas, a small picnic shelter, and an
overlook with seating. The cost estimate for the park (not including the playground equipment)
is shown on Attachment B.

The total estimated cost is outlined in the following table:

ESTIMATED PARK CONSTRUCTION
Site work (Attachment B) $139,111
Playground Equipment* $46,985
Design & Construction Services $33,000
TOTAL ESTIMATED COST $219,096
*Approved and purchased in 2017
