MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: April 24, 2013 <br />TO: Pat Klaers <br />FROM: Joe <br />CLIENT: Arden Hills Prosecution <br />RE: BCA Joint Powers Agreement <br /> <br />I have reviewed the Joint Powers Agreement supplied by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal <br />Apprehension (“BCA”). It is the standard required agreement for municipalities to enter into <br />with the BCA. Ramsey County Criminal Courts are converting to all electronic filing. All <br />prosecuting agencies must now convert to the “eFiling” system. <br /> <br />The costs of the conversion to eFiling are $100 startup fee and $45 per month for the programs <br />and to have access to the databases required to eFile. Because our firm represents multiple <br />municipalities, the cost will be divided up between the cities. This will reduce the financial <br />burden on each of the cities. <br /> <br />Our office recommends passing the resolution as it is necessary for us to prosecute cases under <br />the new filing system. <br />
