Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6K <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: April 9, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Sanitary Sewer Repairs <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $213,344.98 $236,295.98 Sanitary Sewer Utility, MCES Grant <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />Approving sanitary sewer repairs in the amount of $22,950. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The City Council awarded the 2017 Sanitary Sewer Lining to Michels Pipe Services on <br />September 11, 2017 in the amount of $197,398.00 and approved Change Order #1 on March 12, <br />2018 in the amount of $15,946.98. <br /> <br />During the sewer lining process, Michels found two locations where lining could not be <br />completed due to the condition of the pipe. In addition, while lining the pipe on Ingerson Road, <br />the sewer pipe failed, causing the lining to collapse. Point repairs are necessary on Boussard <br />Court, Arden Place, and Hamline Avenue. Due to the locations of the repairs, staff is unable to <br />perform the repairs and has obtained quotes from Valley Rich to complete the work. <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Council authorize Valley Rich to complete the three point repairs in <br />the amount of $22,950.
