Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />DATE: April 9, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />David Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: County Road E and County Road E2 Trails <br />Limited Use Permit Resolutions <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> Council Should Consider <br />Adopting the following resolutions: <br />• Resolution 2018-025 Entering into a Limited Use Permit with MnDOT for the County <br />Road E Trail within the I-51 right-of-way. <br />• Resolution 2018-026 Entering into a Limited Use Permit with MnDOT for the County <br />Road E2 Trail within the I-35W right-of-way. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />With the City’s Old Snelling Trail and Watermain Improvement Project, the City will be <br />constructing trail connections along County Road E and County Road E2 within MnDOT rights- <br />of-way as shown in Attachments A and B. <br /> <br />Since the City will be responsible for maintaining the trail, the City will be applying for a <br />Limited Use Permit for the construction of these portions of the new trails within MnDOT rights- <br />of-way. The permit submittal requires a resolution from the City stating they will operate and <br />maintain the facility within the MnDOT right-of-way. <br /> <br />Attached are Resolutions 2018-025 and 2018-026 which are in the format suggested by MnDOT. <br />Staff would recommend adoption of Resolutions 2018-025 and 2018-026. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Parcel Sketch – County Road E <br />Attachment B: Parcel Sketch – County Road E2 <br />Attachment C: Resolution 2018-025 <br />Attachment D: Resolution 2018-026 <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6E <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />
