Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6H <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: April 23, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Booster Station Transfer Switch <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $25,000 $11,870.00 Water Utility Fund <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />Approving the quote for furnishing and installing a transfer switch for the booster station from <br />Kodiak Power Systems in the amount of $11,870.00. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />The booster station currently has a permanent generator that runs in the event of a power outage. <br />The existing generator is 15 years old. In the event that the generator were to malfunction during <br />a power outage, staff is recommending the installation of a manual transfer switch so that a <br />portable generator could be put in operation at the booster station to maintain water levels at the <br />south tower. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A – Quote from Kodiak Power Systems
