It <br /> -` DVEN HILLS <br /> Approved: June 25, 2018 <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br /> SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> MAY 22,2018 <br /> 6:00 P.M. -ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Grant called to order the Special City <br /> Council Work Session at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Present: Mayor David Grant; Councilmembers Brenda Holden, Dave McClung and <br /> Steve Scott <br /> Absent: Councilmember Fran Holmes (Excused) <br /> Also present: City Administrator Dave Perrault; Public Works Director/City Engineer Sue <br /> Polka; City Planner Matthew Bachler; and City Clerk Julie Hanson <br /> 1. AGENDA ITEMS <br /> A. Civic Site Task Force <br /> Mayor Grant provided background information regarding the 1.6 acre parcel in the Rice Creek <br /> Commons/TCAAP redevelopment area that has been designated for"civic use". He indicated that <br /> while the formation of a Civic Site Task Force was initially discussed approximately a year ago, <br /> the City had been waiting for the project to move forward to a certain point before progressing <br /> with the Civic Site Task Force. <br /> Mayor Grant asked the Council to review the proposed Civic Site Task Force members for later <br /> comment. <br /> City Administrator Perrault indicated that current members of the City's commissions and <br /> committees were invited to participate. <br /> A discussion ensued and the Council was in agreement as to make up of the Civic Site Task Force. <br /> It agreed that the Civic Site Task Force members visit other communities to gather information <br /> regarding potential uses for the site. <br /> Mayor Grant recommended Councilmembers Holden and Holmes be appointed as liaisons to <br /> the Civic Site Task Force, with Councilmember Scott followed by Councilmember McClung or <br /> Mayor Grant designated as alternate liaisons. <br />
