Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 6G <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: June 11, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Curb Stop Repair <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $25,000 $12,350.00 Water Utility <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />Approving Curb stop repairs, including asphalt, curb and driveway restoration in the amount of <br />$12,350.00. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />A leak was reported at a curb stop on Keithson Drive. Per City Code, the City is responsible for <br />water services including the curb stop to the main. Staff contacted Valley Rich to provide a <br />quote for the work due to the equipment needed to excavate and replace the curb stop as it is <br />located in a concrete driveway. The base bid for the repair was $5,450.00. Valley Rich also <br />provided an alternate price of $6,900 for restoration. Due to the aggregate cost of the job, staff <br />obtained a quote from Norsk Contracting for the restoration work which totaled $6,300 but did <br />not include the asphalt restoration. The repair to the curb box was completed on June 11th as an <br />emergency repair <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Council authorize payment to Valley Rich in the amount of <br />$12,350.00. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A – Valley Rich Proposal
