<br />The Water Fund ended 2017 with a net position of $7,519,127, a decrease of $78,810 from the prior year.
<br />Of total net position, $6,719,621 represents the investment in capital assets, leaving $799,506 of
<br />unrestricted net position.
<br />
<br />Water Fund operating revenues were $2,127,452 for 2017, a decrease of $38,321. Operating expenses
<br />(excluding depreciation of $238,736) were $1,921,138, which represents an increase of $319,967.
<br />Expenses were up largely due to an increase in other services and charges and additional supplies and
<br />maintenance.
<br />
<br />Consumption will fluctuate from year-to-year based on many factors, including weather patterns and
<br />number of utility customers.
