AGENDA ITEM – 1B

MEMORANDUM

DATE: August 13, 2018

TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers
Dave Perrault, City Administrator

FROM: Dawn Skelly, Communications Coordinator

SUBJECT: Website Upgrade Project

Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source:
N/A N/A N/A

Council Should Consider

Providing direction regarding the new website greyscale design and color palettes as proposed by
CivicPlus.

Background

The City has an opportunity to extend its brand to be more reflective of the City as a whole and
to include its vision for future development. As the “face” of the City, the website is an
important leading communications vehicle. Decisions regarding look and feel could be extended
to other City communications applications. For example, the Council could decide to add colors
to the City color palette, without changing the City logo, and those colors could be standardized
and incorporated in the website, newsletter, brochures, etc.

The current logo and color will not change, but the Council could choose to add colors to the
City’s color palette that are complementary. Civic Plus provided three palette options. Additional
palette ideas were sent to the design team at Civic Plus and included in the presentation.

Attachments

Attachment A: PowerPoint
