Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />CONSENT ITEM – 7G <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: August 27, 2018 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Gate Valve Replacement – W County Road E <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A $7,141.50 Water Utility <br />Council Should Consider <br />Approving an 8”gate valve replacement in the amount of $7,141.50. <br />Background/Discussion <br />A leaking 8” gate valve was discovered at the intersection of County Road E and Pascal Avenue <br />during the Xcel Energy Pipeline Reconstruction Project. Staff contacted Northdale Construction <br />Co. Inc., as they are the pipe subcontractor for the Old Snelling Trail project o provide a quote <br />for the work. The price for the replacement is $7,141.50. Staff directed Northdale Construction <br />Co. Inc. to complete the replacement work because they were in the area for other project work <br />and to avoid disturbing final paving and restoration work for the Xcel Energy Pipeline <br />Reconstruction Project and the Old Snelling Trail and Watermain Improvement Project, in <br />addition to the water loss. The gate valve has been replaced. <br />Staff recommends that the Council authorize payment to Northdale Construction Co.
