Code enforcement files indicate this is the second complaint received in <br />2018 for the same issues. <br />In accordance with the City’s accelerated abatement procedures in Section 602.07 of the City <br />Code, a letter was mailed to the property owner on August 8, 2018. Based on the accelerated <br />abatement procedures, the property owner was given seven working days, or until August 17, <br />2018, to abate the nuisance. A follow-up inspection showed that no action has been taken. <br />Due to the reoccurring nature of these types of violations, staff is requesting the City Council issue <br />an order for abatement of the property and to continue the abatement order for a two year period. <br />The two year period would expire on August 27, 2020. The property owner has seven days from <br />the Council’s order to complete the work before the City can have the work completed. <br />Public Notice and Comments <br />The letter to the property owner dated August 8, 2018, provided notice of Notice of the public <br />hearing on August 27, 2018, should the nuisance not be corrected. <br />At this time, staff has not received any comments from the public regarding this planning case. <br />Attachments <br />A.
