<br />City of Arden Hills <br />Planning Commission Meeting for February 7, 2018 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: February 7, 2018 PC Agenda Item 5.A <br /> <br />TO: Planning Commission Chair and Commissioners <br /> <br />FROM: Matthew Bachler, City Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Report from the City Council <br /> <br /> <br />January 16, 2018 City Council Work Session <br /> <br />Staff presented a conceptual plan for a new Arden Hills gateway sign at the southwest corner of <br />Highway 96 and Lexington Avenue. Three gateways signs have been installed to date at the <br />following locations in the City: <br />• County Road E2 at Cleveland Avenue <br />• County Road D at Cleveland Avenue <br />• County Road D at New Brighton Road/Lake Johanna Boulevard <br />The City Council directed staff to investigate additional funding sources for the gateway sign. If <br />funding is secured, the sign could be constructed in 2018. <br /> <br />January 22, 2018 City Council Regular Meeting <br /> <br />The City Council voted to deny Planning Case 17-028 for a Site Plan Review at 1504 Edgewater <br />Avenue in order to allow an accessory structure to be located in the front yard between the <br />principal structure on the property and the public street. The Planning Commission reviewed this <br />case at their meeting on January 10, 2018 and recommended denial of the request (5-0). <br /> <br />The application for a Variance at 3415 Lake Johanna Boulevard (Planning Case 17-027) was <br />withdrawn by the applicant following the Planning Commission meeting on January 10, 2018 <br />and prior to City Council review. <br />
