Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING – 8C <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: September 10, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault., City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Gayle Bauman, Finance Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Public Hearing – Special Assessments for False Alarm Charges <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $ $ $ <br /> <br />Council Should Consider the Following <br /> <br />Hold a Public Hearing regarding delinquent false alarm charges. <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The owner of the property located at 4354 Round Lake Road was notified in a letter dated <br />February 28, 2018, of three false alarm charges occurring in 2017. Two of the three false alarm <br />charges have been paid. The property owner was notified in a letter dated August 3, 2018, <br />regarding the remaining delinquent charge as well as the intent to hold a public hearing on <br />September 10. <br /> <br />To date, payment has not been received; therefore the City intends to certify the delinquent <br />charges for user fees to Ramsey County to be collected with taxes due against the property on <br />which the alarm system is installed. The property owner has the right to a hearing in front of the <br />City Council to discuss this matter prior to certification. <br /> <br /> <br />
