DATE: September 17, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Sheriff Budget Discussion <br /> <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />The Council should provide further direction on the preliminary 2019 Sheriff’s budget. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The City Council requested more information be brought back to a work session regarding the <br />preliminary 2019 Sheriff’s budget. The 2019 budget includes an estimated four percent increase <br />over 2018 for the City of Arden Hills, this equates to an approximate $48,477 increase in cost. <br />The main driver of the cost is the addition of an investigator in 2019, the Sheriff’s Office <br />believes this is necessary as their current investigators are overburdened.
