Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> CONSENT ITEM – 6I <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: September 24, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, P.E., Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 0.5 MG Water Tower Rehabilitation – Additional Construction Services Fees <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $62,314.00 $77,225.00 PIR <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />Authorize additional engineering fees to WSB in the amount of $14,911 for the 0.5 MG Water <br />Tower Rehabilitation Project. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />On June 26, 2017, City Council approved a contract with WSB to provide construction services <br />for the 0.5 MG water tower rehabilitation project in the amount of $62,314.00. Included in the <br />proposal was full time inspection for a 10-week project duration. Due to additional repairs <br />discovered once the project began, the contractor has been onsite for 18 weeks requiring <br />additional inspection services. WSB is requesting additional fees in the amount of $14,911 for <br />the additional construction services. It is staff’s opinion that the full time inspection has been a <br />substantial value to the City and is recommending that council approve this additional amount. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: WSB Scope and Fee – June 22, 2017 <br />Attachment B: WSB Request for Additional Fees
