Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />DATE: September 24, 2018 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />David Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Ford F-350 Truck Purchase <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> F-350: $45,000 $43,282.91 Equipment Replacement Fund <br /> <br /> Council Should Consider <br />Approval of the purchase of a 2019 Ford F350 Crew Cab from Midway Ford in the amount of <br />$38,362.91 and additional equipment form Truck Utilities in the amount of $4,920.00 for a total <br />purchase of $43,282.91. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />F-350 Pick-up: <br />The 2018 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) includes an item for the replacement of the 2006 Ford F- <br />350 four door, 2x4 pick-up (Unit 322). A copy of the detailed sheet from the CIP is attached <br />(Attachment A). Repair costs for parts and labor between 2006 and 2017 total $7,670.86 <br />(Attachment B). Pick-up trucks are programmed to be replaced on a 10-12 year cycle. <br /> <br />The 2018 CIP has an estimated budget for the purchase of the new F-350 truck of $45,000. The <br />Midway Ford quote is $38,362.91. A quote from Truck Utilities, Inc. for the additional equipment <br />needed to outfit the truck is $4,920.00. The quotes are included in Attachment C. The total purchase <br />price of the unit is $43,282.91 including tax and licensing, just below the estimated budget. The <br />pricing provided in the quotes are as listed in the Minnesota State contract.
