<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />PARKS, TRAILS AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING <br />TUESDAY, APRIL 18, 2018 <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br /> <br />CALL MEETING TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chair Rich Straumann called the April 18, 2018, meeting of the Parks, Trails, and Recreation <br />Committee to order at 6:31 p.m. <br /> <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Chair Rich Straumann, Committee Members Paul Beggin, Terry Finlay, <br />Nancy O’Malley, Harold Peterson, and John Van Valkenburg <br /> <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Staff Liaison Sara Knoll, Guests Tim Nelson and Dan Dietz <br /> <br />ABSENT: City Council Liaison David Grant, Committee Members Josh Bloyer and Keri Bloyer <br /> <br /> <br />1. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Chair Rich Straumann requested to add item 4B – Joint Picnic with Beyond the Yellow Ribbon <br /> <br />MOTION: The agenda was approved by the Committee unanimously as amended. <br /> <br />2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />A. February 20, 2018 <br /> <br />MOTION: Minutes from the February 20, 2018 meeting were unanimously approved. <br /> <br />3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br /> A. Arden Hills Playground Replacement Schedule <br /> <br />Staff Liaison Sara Knoll explained that after discussion with Public Works Director Sue Polka <br />staff thinks it best to hold off on the play structure at Freeway Park until next year, after the trail <br />project is complete. They are still planning to replace the playground at Cummings Park after the <br />summer playground program is over this year. <br /> <br />Committee Member Nancy O’Malley suggested that Arden Manor or Arden Oaks be done this <br />year and Freeway Park in 2019. <br /> <br /> <br />
