This contract is typically renewed every three years by the
member cities. The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office has been providing policing services to the
City of Arden Hills since 1980. Currently, other cities include Vadnais Heights, Shoreview,
Little Canada, Falcon Heights, North Oaks, and White Bear Township.

The total 2019 budget for the Sheriff’s contract is $9,581,511, and Arden Hills’ share of this is
$1,242,252 or 13 percent of the total budget. This represents a $48,477, or four percent, increase
over the previous year for the City.

The contract will last thru 2021, however, there is a termination clause that allows either party to
terminate the contract at the end of a calendar year with a nine month notice prior to termination.

Attachment

Attachment A: 2019-2021 Agreement for Law Enforcement Services
CONSENT ITEM – 6F

MEMORANDUM
