CONSENT ITEM – 6B <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: November 13, 2018 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br />FROM: Gayle Bauman, Finance Director <br />SUBJECT: 2019 City Contribution to Employee Monthly Benefits <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br />The City Council should consider approving Resolution 2018-063, setting the City Contribution to <br />Employee Monthly Benefits for the 2019 benefit year. <br /> <br />Background <br />Each year, the City needs to review the employee benefit options for the coming year and set the <br />monthly contribution rates. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />The City Council gave direction at the November 5, 2018 work session to move employees to the <br />Minnesota Public Employees Insurance Program (PEIP) for 2019. Monthly, the City would cover <br />the full premium of the Single HSA plan, contribute $900 toward the Family HSA plan and <br />contribute $125 toward an HSA account. If an employee elected a non-HSA plan, the City would <br />contribute $$586.06 toward a Single plan and $1,025.00 toward a Family plan. The City would <br />also cover the employee dental premium for those employees that chose a Single health plan. No <br />changes were made to the Life, Short Term or Long Term Disability benefits. <br /> <br />Attachments <br />Attachment A: Resolution 2018-063 <br /> <br />
