Roseville has sold the equipment and it was not viable for
the City to purchase the used equipment. The impact wrench allows staff to remove the underground
hydrant seating without the need for excavation (8’ depth). In the past, staff has utilized manual
equipment which is labor intensive. This type of tool is ergonomically efficient and lessens the risk
of back injuries, potentially reducing claims to the City. Staff is able to fabricate the frame that will
allow the wrench to be placed in a truck bed for use.

Staff recommends Council approve the purchase of the tool.

Attachments

ATTACHMENT A: Truck Utilities Proposal
CONSENT ITEM – 7G
MEMORANDUM
