Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />DATE: January 14, 2019 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />David Perrault, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Sue Polka, Public Works Director/City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Resolution 2018-060 - Cooperative Agreement for Trunk Highway No. 10 <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $500,000.00 $568,808.34 State of Minnesota Grant Funding, <br /> Water Utility Fund <br /> Council Should Consider <br />The Council is requested to approve an invoice with the State of Minnesota, Department of <br />Transportation for the City’s share of the frontage road and watermain construction along Trunk <br />Highway No. 10 from CSAH 96 to Trunk Highway No. 35W in the amount of $568,808.34. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br />At the October 22, 2018 Council meeting, the Council approved Resolution 2018-060 approving <br />the Cooperative Agreement No. 1031738 with the State of Minnesota, Department of <br />Transportation for the City’s share of the frontage road and watermain construction along Trunk <br />Highway No. 10 from CSAH 96 to Trunk Highway No. 35W. Funding for construction of the <br />watermain in the amount of $500,000 was identified in the State’s 2018 bonding bill. <br /> <br />Replacement of the 12” trunk watermain along TH 10 was be included in MnDOT’s contract to <br />widen TH 10 between CSAH 96 and I-35W. TKDA prepared plans on behalf of the City. The <br />project was let by MnDOT on November 16th has been awarded to Meyer Contracting. <br /> <br />Revised Schedule “I” of the Cooperative Agreement (Attachment A), shows the City’s financial <br />contribution to the project using contract bid prices to be $526,674.39. In addition, the agreement <br />identifies an overhead rate of 8% for construction services bringing the total amount to <br />$568,808.34. This is the amount based on bid prices and quantities.
