CONSENT ITEM—7E <br /> ,-AI�EN HILLS <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: January 28, 2019 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> FROM: Dave Perrault, City Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: MNSPECT Contract for Inspection Services <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> Council Should Consider <br /> The Council should consider approving the agreement with MNSPECT to perform residential <br /> building inspections and code enforcement as needed. <br /> Background <br /> The City currently has a vacancy for a Residential Building Inspector and Code Enforcement <br /> officer. In order to assist the Building Official, Staff has requested a proposal from MNSPECT <br /> to assist in residential inspections and code enforcement as needed. The contract also provides <br /> the flexibility for MNSPECT to assist in commercial activities if needed, however, Staff is <br /> anticipating assistance will only be required for residential inspection and code enforcement <br /> activities. MNSPECT also serves 18 other municipalities, as their Building Official or in a <br /> similar backup role, such as, North St Paul, Shorewood, and Isanti. <br /> Attachment <br /> Attachment A: MNSPECT Contract for Inspection Services <br />
