Ramsey County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2018 <br /> <br />Page | 43 <br /> <br />In May of 2011, an EF-0 tornado crossed through Ramsey County near Spring Lake. Most of the damage <br />was due to sporadic trees being blown down. <br />An F1 tornado in May 1998 touched down in Roseville, before traveling north through Shoreview, <br />North Oaks and Lino Lakes before lifting near Blaine. 7 houses were destroyed, and 102 severely <br />damaged. The damage from the tornado, along with widespread hail, reached $150 million. <br /> <br /> <br />In June of 1981 an F3 tornado <br />injured 60 people and killed 1. <br />Wind speeds as high as 160 mph <br />were recorded (Figure 7). The Lt. <br />Governor activated 120 National <br />Guard military police to prevent <br />looting of damaged businesses and <br />homes in Roseville. The NCEI <br />reports $25 million in property <br />damage. <br />An F4 tornado occurred in May of <br />1965, resulting in 108 injuries and <br />$25 million in property damage. <br />Figure 8 below shows tornado touchdown points and tracks in Ramsey County.
