It is <br />also done during actual periods of <br />extreme temperatures. <br />Information on staying safe during <br />periods of extreme heat or cold is <br />relayed to the public through <br />channels such as County/City <br />websites, social media, radio, and <br />local newspapers. All Schools <br />work to educate students on the <br />dangers of extreme heat and cold <br />as well. <br />County <br />funding <br />28 <br />Extreme <br />Temps <br />(Heat / <br />Cold) <br />Mitigation <br />Preparedness <br />& Response <br />Support <br />Enhance plans to <br />respond to extreme <br />temperature situations <br />in Ramsey County. <br />Ongoing Moderate 2018- <br />2022 Ramsey County RCEMHS and <br />SPRCPH <br />In the event of a severe heat or <br />cold event that poses risk to public <br />safety, Ramsey County EMHS will <br />work with Saint Paul-Ramsey <br />County Public Health to release <br />information to the public about <br />personal safety measures and <br />where to go for a heating/cooling <br />facility for the public, especially at- <br />risk individuals such as senior <br />citizens. <br />County <br />funding <br />29 <br />Extreme <br />Temps <br />(Heat / <br />Cold) <br />Structure and <br />Infrastructure <br />Projects <br />Reduce the effects of <br />extreme heat <br />temperatures through <br />measures such as <br />installation of <br />permeable paving, <br />greenways, white roofs <br />and tree plantings. <br />New Moderate 2018- <br />2022 Ramsey County <br />RCEMHS, RC <br />Property <br />Management, RC <br />Public Works <br />Ramsey County will work to <br />identify potential areas for retrofit <br />and consider heat-reduction design <br />or materials for county facilities <br />and in areas of new development. <br />County <br />funding
