Additional information <br />is provided during the NWS severe <br />weather awareness weeks in spring <br />and winter. RCEMHS also has a <br />YouTube Channel where “Get Ready <br />Gopher” educational videos on <br />preparedness and severe weather <br />training are posted. These are <br />promoted to the schools as well as <br />the larger public for viewing. Cities <br />are encouraged to share <br />information through their own <br />existing channels (i.e., websites, <br />social media, and local media). <br /> <br />City Comment: The City participates in <br />the National Weather Service’s annual <br />Severe Winter/Spring Weather <br />Awareness Week. Our schools also <br />practice tornado drills on an annual <br />basis. The City’s Fire Dept. also <br />educates homeowners on <br />implementing fuel-reduction measures <br />around homes in areas adjacent to <br />woodland areas for wildland fire safety. <br />County, <br />municipal <br />funding
