Ramsey County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan, 2018 <br /> <br />Page | 26 <br /> <br />3.8.1 Health Care Providers <br />There are 7 hospitals in Ramsey County: 1 in Maplewood (Healtheast St. John’s Hospital), and 6 in St. <br />Paul (Healtheast Bethesda Hospital, Regions Hospital, United Hospital, Healtheast St. Joseph’s Hospital, <br />Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare and Children’s Hospital and Clinics of MN – St. Paul). <br />In addition, the county contains 30 nursing homes, 8 hospice facilities and 50 supervised living facilities. <br />See Appendix B for a complete listing of healthcare facilities. Figure A - 13 in Appendix A depicts health <br />services within Ramsey County. <br />3.8.2 Public Safety Providers/Government Services <br />The Sheriff’s Office is centrally located at the Law Enforcement Center in St. Paul. Ramsey County <br />Water Patrol is in Little Canada and Ramsey County Sheriff Patrol is in Arden Hills. <br />There are 20 police departments within Ramsey County, 11 of which are in St. Paul. Figure A - 4 in <br />Appendix A depicts government and emergency facilities, including city halls, fire departments, police <br />departments, the Sheriff’s Office, Ramsey County Water Patrol and Ramsey County Sheriff Patrol. <br />Figure 3 shows fire departments and fire response times in Ramsey County. These drive times were <br />created using the ArcGIS Network Analyst extension and Esri’s Business Analyst. The user may note <br />discrepancies between MnDOT road data and the map in this document; Network Analyst requires a <br />seamlessly-connected data source to perform the calculations for drive times, which Business Analyst <br />provides but MnDOT does not. The Business Analyst data was used for this reason. According to this <br />model, all communities in the county are within 15 minutes of a fire department. <br />
