CONSENT ITEM – 7D <br />City of Arden Hills <br />City Council Meeting for May 13, 2019 <br />P:\Planning\Recycling & Garbage\2019\JPA Renewal <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />If the City determines that there is a better method for collecting the fee prior to the expiration of <br />the proposed JPA in 2024, the City can terminate the JPA without cause with 180 days notice to <br />the County. In the future, the City could consider applying the recycling fee to utility bills; <br />however, the City would want to weigh the County administrative fee against the cost of <br />additional City staff time. <br />The City Attorney has reviewed the JPA and did not have any changes. <br />Recommendation <br />Motion to approve the Ramsey County Joint Powers Agreement for Recycling Funding for July <br />1, 2019, through December 31, 2024. <br />Attachment <br />A.Existing Joint Powers Agreement with Ramsey County <br />B.Proposed Joint Powers Agreement with Ramsey County
