<br />The Water Fund ended 2018 with a net position of $8,179,034, an increase of $659,907 from the prior
<br />year. Of total net position, $7,190,606 represents the net investment in capital assets, leaving $988,428 of
<br />unrestricted net position.
<br />
<br />Water Fund operating revenues were $2,256,859 for 2018, an increase of $152,220 due to increased rates.
<br />Operating expenses (excluding depreciation of $260,017) were $1,812,772, which represents a decrease
<br />of $108,366. Expenses were down largely due to a decrease in other services and charges and supplies
<br />and maintenance.
<br />
<br />The Water Fund also received $500,000 in capital contributions in the current year for a watermain
<br />project.
<br />
<br />Consumption will fluctuate from year-to-year based on many factors, including weather patterns and
<br />number of utility customers.
