This allows the flexibility of future growth for the City Planner, and to ensure a <br />smooth planning function for the City. <br /> <br />It is recommended the Associate Planner be brought in at Grade 11 ($57,873 to $73,312). <br /> <br />It is recommended the Community Development Manager/City Planner range be Grade 16 <br />($77,447 to $98,108). <br /> <br />Taking into account the vacant Community Development Director position (currently budgeted <br />at $110,047), upgrading the City Planner and hiring an Associate Planner but leaving the <br />Community Development Director vacant leads to a net savings for the City of approximately <br />$10,000 (i.e. this does not adversely affect the budget).
